Monster Hunter Freedom Unite has more missions, equipment, and monsters than Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and a replacement feature may be a Felyne fighter to assist the player on their quests.
Rarity 9 and 10 armor and weapons were added, the player can now delay to 99 of every item type in his/her item box, store up to twenty equipment sets, and obtain ten equipment pages rather than six.
A new sort of quest, the "Epic Hunting Quest", was introduced, which can enable the player to require on, one by one, up to 4 different monsters in one quest, as shown within the released demo. Weapons can now have up to purple sharpness which is above white sharpness.
